The Cruze has the internal code J300 and is built on the GM Delta II platform, with front-wheel drive. The first generation was produced between 2008 and 2016, and exports from the South Korean plant began on 24 February 2009. Besides the saloon, the range had a hatchback version, sold in Europe from mid-2011, and an estate, presented in Geneva in February 2012. In 2013, GM announced the withdrawal of the Chevrolet brand from Europe, except for the Corvette and Camaro.
