Dacia Logan MCV II with Menabo Brio roof bars and Menabo Mania 460 Black roof box

On this second-generation Dacia Logan MCV we fitted Menabo Brio roof bars and, on top of them, the Menabo Mania 460 ABS Black roof box. We did the fitting in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Dacia Logan MCV II (L52/K52 generation)

The Dacia Logan MCV II is the estate version of the second-generation Logan, listed with the codes L52/K52 and built on the Dacia M0 platform. The estate made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, and on that occasion the name MCV took on the meaning Maximum Capacity Vehicle. Dacia built the second generation between 2012 and 2020, and the facelift was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2016.

For roof accessories, it matters that the Logan MCV II has raised roof rails. Menabo Brio roof bars are designed for exactly this type of roof: they attach to the roof rails, and the version we fitted is the one made for the Logan MCV 2013+. We do not have the maximum roof load for the Logan MCV II from an official Dacia source, so it is worth checking in the car's manual before a trip with a full box.

What we fitted on this Logan MCV

The Menabo Brio for Dacia Logan MCV 2013+ are made of aluminium, with an aerodynamic profile, a length of 1,200 mm and a section of 28 x 48 mm. On top they have a 14 mm track along the whole length, they have an anti-theft lock and are TÜV tested and tested to ISO/PAS 11154:2006, in line with DIN 75302. The declared maximum load is 90 kg.

On top of the bars we placed Menabo Mania 460 ABS Black roof box: 460 litres, glossy black ABS plastic, maximum load 75 kg, anti-theft lock and right-hand opening. The box comes with two types of fitting, a 60 mm U-bolt fitting and a 20 mm T-track fitting. The data sheet of the Brio bars says that accessories without a 14 mm T-track fitting are attached with a U-bolt fitting around the outside of the bar, so on Brio bars the Mania box is fixed with the U-bolt fitting. Menabo Brio also appears on the list of roof bars compatible with the Mania.

Technical details and what to watch for

• The Menabo Mania 460 box weighs 20.2 kg. Of the 90 kg of the Brio bars, 69.8 kg remain for luggage, slightly under the 75 kg limit of the box, so on this setup the bars set the real limit. On top of both, the roof load from the Logan MCV manual applies.
• Menabo Brio roof bars: 1,200 mm long, 28 mm high, 48 mm wide, aluminium, 14 mm track, anti-theft lock.
• The roof bar package contains 2 bars, 4 pre-assembled feet and an Allen key. The instructions for the bars are in the package, and the instructions for the Mania box are available as a PDF on the product page.
• With the box on the roof, the Logan MCV becomes noticeably taller; check the total height before underground car parks or garages.

Yes. The Menabo Mania 460 box has a 20 mm T-track fitting and a 60 mm U-bolt fitting. On Menabo Brio bars, with a 14 mm track, the U-bolt fitting around the outside of the bar is used, and Brio is on the list of roof bars compatible with the Mania.
