About the car: Opel Crossland, 2020+ (facelift)
Opel sold the Crossland between 2017 and 2024, as a 5-door SUV in the subcompact crossover segment. The 2020 facelift brought the Vizor front, first seen on the second-generation Mokka, and changed the name to Opel Crossland, without the X. Production stopped in July 2024 at the Zaragoza plant (Spain).
On the car in the photo, the CROSSLAND lettering and the new Opel logo on the tailgate show the post-facelift version. The roof in the photo had no roof rails, and the feet of the roof bars were attached directly to the bodywork. The Opel manual for the Crossland X gives 60 kg on the roof, but for the 2020+ version the value must be checked in the manual of your car.
What we fitted on this Crossland
On this Crossland we fitted the Menabo Delta roof bar set, with the feet attached directly to the bodywork, and a Menabo Marathon roof box, fitted on the bars. For suitable roof bars, see roof bars.
For the roof box, see roof boxes. The right choice depends on the type of roof bars, and at the showroom we check together the compatibility of the box with your bars.
Useful fitting details
- Roof load: for the Crossland X, the Opel manual gives 60 kg, including the weight of the bars and the box. For the 2020+ version, check the car's manual.
- Calculation: the weight of the bars and the box is subtracted from the roof load, and then the luggage is added.
- Speed: the Opel manual for the Crossland X recommends staying under 120 km/h with the bars and box fitted on the roof.
- Height: the car becomes taller with the box on the roof. Check the height before height barriers or underground car parks.
- Check after fitting: the bars and the box must not move, and all the fittings must be tightened before you set off.
- Noise: the bars can make noise when driving, especially with accessories fitted. Details in our guide.
