Dacia Duster II (HM) with Menabo Marathon Dark 460 litre roof box, matt black

On a blue Dacia Duster II (HM) we fitted the Menabo Marathon Dark 460 roof box, 460 litres, in matt black. We did the fitting in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Dacia Duster II (HM), 2017-2024

The Duster in this fitting is from the second generation, code HM, produced for Europe from 2017 to 2024 and arriving in Romania in November 2017. The photos are from February 2021, so the car is from before the facelift presented on 22 June 2021, which brought a new light signature at the front and rear. On the roof you can see the silver raised roof rails and the roof bars on which the box sits.

The Dacia launch brochure for Romania (2018) gives the Duster II a maximum roof load of 75 kg, for all engines, and factory roof rails on all trim levels: black on Essential and Comfort, with a satin chrome look on Prestige. The 75 kg is the limit for everything you put on the roof, meaning roof bars, box and luggage together, so with a long box like the Marathon 460 it is worth loading with care.

What we fitted on this Duster

Menabo Marathon Dark 460 roof box, 195x79x36 cm has 460 litres, is made of matt black ABS plastic and measures 193.9 x 77.2 x 36.3 cm on the outside. It opens on one side, the right, and has a lock. It is designed for holiday luggage, in the mountains or at the seaside: bags, trolley cases and everything that no longer fits in the boot.

In the package you will find two fittings, a 60 mm U-bolt and a 20 mm T-bolt, so the box suits several types of bars. An 80 mm U-bolt system is also available as an option, code 000065000000. It fits directly on the Menabo Brio bars for the Duster II, on Menabo Delta, Tema and Omega, on K39 and on Thule bars.

• Volume 460 litres, dimensions 195 x 79 x 36 cm (outside 193.9 x 77.2 x 36.3 cm), opens on the right, ABS material.
• Fittings included: 60 mm U-bolt and 20 mm T-bolt; optional 80 mm U-bolt, item no. 000065000000.
• On the Duster II, from the 75 kg permitted on the roof (2018 Dacia brochure) you deduct the weight of the box and of the roof bars; only what remains can go in the box.
